I have the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), the International House Certificate in Teaching Very Young Learners and over 13 years of experience teaching English to kids and teenagers right through to adults of all levels and ages both online and face to face. I also have a bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish and a master’s degree in specialized and technical translation, so languages have always been one of my passions. And, last but not least, I’ve recently completed a post-graduate degree in psychology, which has allowed me to understand how the human mind works. In fact, teaching is all about psychology and understanding your students’ needs, adapting your teaching techniques to meet them and connecting with the pupils you have in your class.
My hobbies include: nutrition, travelling and kids. I have one of my own, which probably has a lot to do with it. In 2007, I travelled five continents in 15 months, which was one of my best experiences to date and definitely one I intend to utilize in all areas of my life. I got to hike seven kilometres into the Amazon Jungle and scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef of Australia! Another hobby is of course teaching, and especially teaching very young kids. I love my job as it’s very rewarding and a lot of fun! Teaching online is amazing because I get to meet people from all over the world and learn about lots of different cultures. We are going to have lots of fun together because when we have fun, we learn!

Forget old-school grammar lectures and boring gap-filling exercises. My classes are designed to make the student the protagonist by maximizing student speaking time and keeping students constantly challenged and focused via a range of short listening and speaking activities. Examples of these are: listening comprehension exercises, debates, “Mastering the Interrogative”, “Tell to Ask” and describing pictures, as well as, translation lists and drills that practise different grammar and language points including: phrasal verbs, irregular verbs, pronunciation of ED-ending verbs, adjectives and more… Reading and writing activities are given for homework.
Business English Classes

Apart from all of the above, students will learn important skills and vocabulary necessary for the business world by actively participating in roleplays that mimic everyday business situations. I focus on training students in specific business areas such as persuading, negotiating, giving and receiving feedback, solving problems, communicating by telephone and email, taking part in meetings and conferences and much more.

It is very interactive, which allows students to complete exercises and play games in real-time with the teacher’s supervision. It even has a “Koala Go Playground” but you’ll need to try a class with me to find out what that’s all about! You will be sent a unique link for the platform before the first class, which will remain the same for all future classes.
You can use a PC, Mac, Samsung Android only, ChromeBook or iPad. You must have the latest version of Chrome installed on your PC or Mac. Your iPad must also be updated with the latest version of iOS. The use of a headset with microphone is recommended.

If the student cancels a class with less than 24 hrs notice, the total cost of the class will be charged for.
For 1:2 and group classes, all students must agree on a class reschedule.
