For children of 7-12 years old
Older children
begin to gain confidence when communicating in English. I recreate stories that combine fantasy with everyday life, while ensuring they match the interests of children of this age. We start working on reading comprehension with the help of animated PowerPoint presentations. Oral interaction and communication is still the main focus.
Soon they start
to become aware of how the language works and begin to come to grips with basic grammar. We also start to perfect oral communication and discuss topics which they can relate to, such as animals, the planet or the environment, as well as facing global challenges and needs.
As the children advance,
they increase their knowledge of English and perfect the grammar that we have worked on so far. They also begin to learn to talk about themselves and their interests.
The Busy Bees Way

To complement animated PowerPoint presentations, I use TPR (Total Physical Response), realia, flashcards and gifs. In this way new vocabulary is introduced alongside images, which connects the English word to the concept and avoids the need for translation.
Hear
I’m a native English-speaking tutor, so kids get to hear the language pronounced naturally, as well as hear vocabulary and grammar used in the correct context. I also use videos and audio files for exposure to other accents and for more listening practice.
Speak
I always encourage students to answer my questions with full sentences as well as use new vocabulary in their own sentences.
Relate
I often ask students to use the new language and talk about the topics we study in relation to their own lives. This gets them talking and creates strong and long-lasting memories.
Analyze
Older and more advanced students are asked to think critically and use new vocabulary to express their ideas and opinions. Students begin to master the language when they start thinking in English.
Fun and Dynamic classes
My motto is: “We all learn better and faster if we’re having fun!”, so I like to keep kids engaged by implementing all of the above as well as the use of educational games. I feel this is especially important when teaching kids online as they can get easily distracted. Plus, I always implement an original reward system to help stimulate learning, motivate good behaviour and build confidence.
Busy Bees Courses
My courses are levelled according to the Cambridge English exams which are mapped according to the Common European Framework of Reference or CEFR. CEFR is used internationally as a means to standardize language ability. The scale ranges from A1 for beginners to level C for learners who have near-mastery of the language. At Busy Bees, I offer courses ranging from A1 to C2.

I recommend that at least one adult accompany the child during class, especially with very young learners, to help with motivation and virtual classroom management if needed.
Of course the best online platform, Koala Go! It is a new award-winning kid-friendly learning space. It is very interactive, which allows students to complete exercises and play games in real-time with the teacher’s supervision. It even has a “Koala Go Playground” but you’ll need to try a class with me to find out what that’s all about! You will be sent a unique link for the platform before the first class, which will remain the same for all future classes.
You can use a PC, Mac, Samsung Android only, ChromeBook or iPad. You must have the latest version of Chrome installed on your PC or Mac. Your iPad must also be updated with the latest version of iOS. The use of a headset with microphone is recommended.

The total cost of each package shall be paid for before the first class. You can buy packs of 10, 20 or 30 classes.
Students can cancel classes at any time but NO refunds will be offered for pre-paid classes. If the student cancels a class with more than 24 hours’ notice, the class may be made up on another day in accordance with the teacher’s schedule. If the student cancels a class with less than 24 hours’ notice, the total cost of the class will be charged for.
For 1:2 and group classes, all students must agree on a class reschedule.
