How young can my child learn a second language?
This is a great question. Parents may think that teaching a child a second language will slow down the process of language development and they may be worried that it will be confusing. However, research overwhelmingly supports teaching second languages early, because as we know it’s harder to learn a second language as we get older. But when kids are very young, they are very ripe for receiving new information. That’s where I can help you as I have the International House Very Young Learners’ certificate but more importantly, teaching the littlest of the little is my great passion and niche. It certainly helps having my own little one in tow. In some of my classes, she even plays the role of “my little helper”. My classes are prepared for kids as young as three, right through to 12 years old.
About me
I have the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), the International House Certificate in Teaching Very Young Learners and over 13 years of experience teaching English to kids and teenagers right through to adults of all levels and ages both online and face to face. I also have a bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish and a master’s degree in specialized and technical translation, so languages have always been one of my passions. And, last but not least, I’ve recently completed a post-graduate degree in psychology, which has allowed me to understand how the human mind works. In fact, teaching is all about psychology and understanding your students’ needs, adapting your teaching techniques to meet them and connecting with the pupils you have in your class.

Will my child get the same quality of education with online learning?

I recommend that at least one adult accompany the child during class, especially with very young learners, to help with motivation and virtual classroom management if needed.
Of course the best online platform, Koala Go! It is a new award-winning kid-friendly learning space. It is very interactive, which allows students to complete exercises and play games in real-time with the teacher’s supervision. It even has a “Koala Go Playground” but you’ll need to try a class with me to find out what that’s all about! You will be sent a unique link for the platform before the first class, which will remain the same for all future classes.
You can use a PC, Mac, Samsung Android only, ChromeBook or iPad. You must have the latest version of Chrome installed on your PC or Mac. Your iPad must also be updated with the latest version of iOS. The use of a headset with microphone is recommended.

Students can cancel classes at any time but NO refunds will be offered for pre-paid classes.
